My favorite things about Paul
By: Annie Wilkins
1. Pauls Laugh. The best way to describe his laugh is pure glee. It consumed his whole being, down to his fingers and toes. And the twinkle in his eye.
2. Paul’s hugs. I’m going to miss his hugs so much. He had a way of making me and everyone else he hugged feel so loved.
3. Paul always walked you out. He always made sure I made it out to my car and I love that he taught all the 50+ boys coming through his house to treat women as well.
4. The way he loved and took care of my Aunt Sherrie. I loved Paul and Nick since the moment they joined our family. They were both so funny, kind, had the best smiles and felt like family right away. (Plus, Paul had super cool glasses at the time!) Paul jumped right in and took care of Sherrie and my cousins in a way they had needed for a long time. I was always so grateful for that.
5. Singing and dancing. When you walked in to the Chretien Robinson house and heard Paul singing you knew you were in for a treat and if he was also dancing in the kitchen? It was going to be a great day.
6. Paul cared about people. He was present with whomever he was speaking with. You could tell he was really listening to you and not his waiting for his turn to talk. He always took my calls when I was worried for my kids even up until his very last days with us.
7. Paul got it. Paul was someone that you could make eye contact with across the room and you knew you were both thinking the same thing. Whether in a funny or awkward situation. I can picture him looking over the frames of his glasses at me and sharing a thought with just one glance.
I have so many other things I love about Paul. And will be forever grateful I got to call him my uncle.
